| Once upon a time, my husband grabbed my hand at the Houston Cat Show to draw my attention to "the finest cat I have ever seen". This georgeous specimen turned out to be an ebony silver spotted Oriental Shorthair named "Mufasa". He has become my teacher and my soul mate. I showed him to a Grand Premiership, and he continues to show me the inner beauty of the breed. The years since have been filled with lots of fun, hard work, and a few tears along the way. What matters most though are the wonderful friends I've made and the love I share with my cats who all give so unselfishly. In return I hope to give back to them by promoting the health, care, and well-being of this endearing breed. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Oriental was developed to explore all the possibilities of color and pattern. Tlhe Oriental has an equally colorful personality. They are closely linked to the people they claim as their own and are passionate about sharing their lives with you. In the busiest moments, your Oriental will find a way to interrupt your activities; a little nudge while you eat, a close examination of your toothbrush prior to use, or some help tying your shoes before you leave in the morning. It's understood you'll need help deciding which items to select from the refrigerator! In the calmest of times they'll share the warmth of your lap, provide a comforting purr, and nuzzle your chin when you need it most. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Orientals represent a diverse group of cats that have their foundation in the Siamese breed. From the tip of its nose to the end of its long, whippy tail, the Oriental is a study in sleek design. This elegant cat gracefully glides across the room on its tall, slender legs. The lines of its angular head flow into its large flaring ears, and are complimented by its almond shaped eyes. Don't be fooled by the svelte, tubular body; these cats have surprising weight and muscle tone and are neither frail nor fragile. Give them the attention and affection they seek, and they will do anything to please you. Ignore them, and they will droop with despair. | some thought...some feeling...some spontaneity....a lot of remembrance... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| You've known me and my kitty family as Kuan Jin (named for the Oriental goddess of mercy and healing), a name that served both my profession as a massage therapist and my passion for my cats. For health and family reasons, I took a hiatus from breeding and showing for about 18 months. During that time my mother passed - she was 94, a great lady who embraced life and loved to laugh. And in my time of grieving the loss of one of my greatest supporters and friends, I came on the name MilleBaci, 1000 kisses, and a new little kitten had a name.
But MilleBaci seemed to touch me on a much deeper level and I realized that it's warmth and cheer reminded me of my mom and of the joy I get just being around my kitties. And the decision was made for a new beginning...for Kuan Jin "a cattery you know" to transform into MilleBaci "a new look and name you'll love".
Momma and I used to end our chats with "hugs and kisses" so at last, a loving tribute ... MilleBaci, momma ... 1000 kisses.
